Voting has begun in Kosovo's first parliamentary election following its 2008 independence. Opinion polls showed the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) of outgoing Prime Minister Hashim Thaci in the lead but strongly challenged by the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) led by Pristina Mayor Isa Mustafa.
